Miami has become one of the big party capitals of the world after many years of neglect. It was back in the late 80′s when people started buying up cheap property and revamping the local businesses. Now the area is once again thriving, with the rich and famous heading south to enjoy the sunny winter season in Miami Beach. The climate is good all year in Florida, however in the summer season it has high humidity and the problem of the odd cyclone hitting the shores. Winter time is the peek season, with lots of sunny days and temperatures often in the mid 70′s to low 80′s making it perfect for a winter break. Miami has great recreational facilities for all age groups and a wealth of entertainment options day or night. The South beach Art Deco area is now world famous, it has some great street cafes, bars and a host of good quality eating houses. A number of top end boutique hotels have opened in this area. Many run down properties have been re born, now offering the best in style and modern day design. A little further south brings you to the area of Biscayn Bay, this is the ideal location if your wanting peaceful days with lots to do on your door step. Further up the coast is the lovely Fort Lauderdale, a departure point for many of the worlds top cruise liners and with a feel of old world charm. The Everglades have been a protected area for many years, here nature thrives and many wild speces can be seen in there natural habitat.
Florida Keys
To the south of Florida are a string of Islands that stretch for 120 miles, these are of course the Florida Keys. Connected by highway 1, this is the longest overseas highway and takes around 3 to 4 hours by car or bus to reach the tip Key West. There are many keys to visit, the upper keys like Key Largo are about an hours drive from Miami and offer some good value accommodations. The further south you go the more expensive the room rates. The rates for key west are some of the most expensive in Florida, this is area is truly tropical with beautiful clear waters and a natural coral reef, great for diving enthusiasts. The keys are well worth a visit with Key west probably being the most beautiful, ideal destination to make a 2 center stay with Miami and pretty much guaranteeing some hot sunny days any time of year.
